Although I managed to build 3.0.5 last week (with Ponce's buildscript and an extra patch), 3.1.0 failed with the following CMake error:
Code:
CMakeFiles/cmTC_9c931.dir/CheckFunctionExists.c.o -o cmTC_9c931 -lpthreads -lm -latomic -ldl
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpthreads
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

There's a working 3.1.0 appimage, roughly the same size as an installed slackware package. Runs OK even if a few menu icons seem to be missing. There's also a PCLinux rpm package that simply installs the appimage in /opt plus a .desktop file and an icon, can easily be repackaged to a .txz package.

AND, I may ask what have this in common with the subject of this thread which apparently is "private data stealing/they track us!" made by Audacity?
So, you are kind to open a new and proper thread about building Audacity, leaving this sorry thread to sink in obscurity?
