what is the snapshot app?

I am certain I saw somewhere that there is a system snapshot app somewhere for a future possible system restore point. After a lot of searching I come up with nothing in KDE running on Ubuntu 18.04

Can anyone help?

Unfortunately "snapshot" has become a very over-loaded term - you are probably referring to timeshift. Has been embraced by Mint, not sure about Ubuntu - if so, I'm guessing there is a ppa somewhere, else have a look here.

thanks -

do you suppose that Timeshift could be use to change desktops - or would that be beyond it's scope

OK - I was able run and get a snapshot using TimeShift in Ubuntu 18.04 KDE (Kubuntu)
