Which feature of syslog-ng are you looking for? Most of the syslog-ng features are enabled in the package in openSUSE. Some of the features require extra dependencies, those are available in subpackages, like syslog-ng-geoip.
Some of the features can't be included in the distro due to missing dependencies or packaging guide line restrictions (like Java-based destination drivers depending on JAR files, like HDFS). If you need one of these features, I recommend using my unofficial syslog-ng repo for openSUSE/SLES:
