Debian Wheezy Apache2 SNI configuration mixed HTTP and HTTPS vhosts issue

I have referred to a number of articles to set up SNI with Apache2 on a single public IP.

Cert installed fine and works as expected on a site with SSL cert.

However I have other sites that are not secured and if I was to browse to any of these sites using https:// instead of http:// I get an error about the SSL cert and if I drill down into the error I get redirected to the SSL protected site.

The articles I have seen do not explain how to set up a server to share the same IP with a mix of secure and non secure sites.

can anyone advise please? I am sure that I am close.

thanks,

Marvin
