Can't decrypt drive after upgrading from Ubuntu 17.10 to 18.04

Hi,

After upgrading from Ubuntu 17.10 to 18.04 using instructions from this tutorial :

https://itsfoss.com/upgrade-ubuntu-version/

When trying to decrypt my drive, I'm not able to go further than :

cryptsetup (sda5_crypt): set up successfully

My Desktop "freeze" there.

Is there something to do ? Or should I completly re-install Ubuntu 18.04 from a usb key, then restore a backup ?

Thank you

I'd live boot 17.10 to see if you can decrypt. If so, get the data off and see if you can get 18.04 to work at all regarding the topic of encrypting a drive.

I'm able to decrypt from a 18.04 live boot. I'm transfering my decrypted home/ to an external drive just in case the backup doesn't work as expected.

Ok,

I've installed Ubuntu 18.04 on my PC with fulldisk encryption.

With this new clean install, I still have the same problem as from the upgrade from 17.10.

I'm still not able to go further than :

cryptsetup (sda5_crypt): set up successfully

My Desktop "freeze" there.

Anyone using fulldisk encryption can confirm if it work or not on 18.04 ?

Thank you
