Latest Chromium with Reader View extension

The version of Chromium that I use is installed from 61.0.3163.100-x86_64-1.alien package. It looks like no Reader View extension works any more. I tried several of them with same results. They either do nothing upon activation or render a page which was previously visited instead of current one. Those extension used to work before and I tried several of them.

For those who want to try it out, go to Chrome Web Store, type Reader View in the search box and click on "Extension" radio button bellow it. Whichever you pick, behaves in the same way, more or less.

OK, so I fired up an ISO for Slackware Live Plasma5 edition (which contains that chromium-61.0.3163.100 package) in VWMware.
I started Chromium, went to the Chrome Web Store, searched for "reader view", installed the first "Reader View" that showed in the list (by yokris.dev). And it works. Tried a couple of different web sites, and readerview consistently shows the correct un-cluttered page text.

I have tried 3 or 4 Reader View extension which show on top when one searches web store. Neither one works for me. I have few other extensions, though.... but neither seem to be related directly. UBlock Origin, No-beforeunload, Offline Switcher, Video Downloader (Flash), Simple Bookmarks. Thanks, I am going to try disabling one by one and see what happens. If I figure out something, I am going to post here.

UPDATE:
I have disabled an extension named "Disable HTML5 Autoplay", switched to Developer mode and got "Mercury Reader" working. Then switched back to normal mode and enabled "Disable HTML5 Autoplay"
again. Still works, don't know why. Thanks for your input, it pointed me in right direction (whichever that one might be ).

your installation is not up-to-date: please, read this thread.

and don't use pkgs.org to find your packages, use a single package source you trust, don't mix packages from different sources: if you decide to use pkgs.org you should report your errors to pkgs.org.
