What is mount point degradation?

Hi,

In the kernel documentation under Automount Support section, I see like mount point degradation.

What is that actually and for what it will be used?

I browsed in the web but could not get answers about it.

and it was mentioned that it can e requested from user space. how it can be done?

Please give any example if possible.

Thanks.

hi pan64,

I could not find about degraded mount in the links you provided.

Can you please let me know the exact reference or atleast briefly describe what it is?

thanks.

that is the man page of btrfs and you can look for the word degraded. Unfortunately the last char is missing from the link.
