I really need a way to disconnect the phone's physical volume controls, especially from media volume.
My phone is on a belt holster and when I squat, as at work, i.e., then the volume goes crazy.
I need to restrict volume to the headset controls.
Is this do-able?
(DumbPhones are for calling, texting and listening to tunes. No bells, whistles, trackers....)

I suspect that it is probably not possible to disconnect the phone's OS from the built-in hardware controls, at least not without recoding the OS.
It might help to know the make/model of the device, but, to be blunt, I suspect the issue here is a poorly designed phone holster/carrying pouch. A proper holster wouldn't muck with the controls.
I am pretty happy with my new case.
SUPCASE. Came with a holster also. But. I keep a place on my motorcycle for a more stable mount. I got tired of my broken screen on last phone.
Neat thing. Wireless charging works with that gorilla case. Model I have is the beetle pro.
Edit: Wear a work vest and clip yours there. I cut the sleeves off old jean jackets for a work vest. I also wear bib overalls when I am working outside.
2nd edit> Old t shirt sleeves make excellent covid masks.
