wifi not working on laptop Acer Aspire-ES1-533 after using TPLINK
Hi, I'm writing to you in order to find a solution to my problem: wifi is not working in my laptop Acer Aspire-ES1-533 when It is running under lubuntu 18.04.4 LTS since I linked it to a repeater TPLINK TL-WA801ND. But under windows 10 it works very well. What is the matter with it then?
My wifi card is Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168NGW [Stone Peak]. Thanks for your help.
Does the wireless work under Linux when connected directly to a wireless router, rather than to this access point? Has the wireless every worked under Ubuntu?
Does your computer see the repeater in whatever network manager you are using?
If you can see the repeater, what happens when you try to connect?
Hi frankbell, thanks for having responding me as quickly as possible. These are my answers to your questions:
1. No the wireless does not work under Linux when connected directly to a wireless router, rather than to this access point. But it have been worked normally under ubuntu
2. Yes my computer see the repeater in whatever network manager I'm using.
3. When I try to connect, a message asks me to give the network's password and then when the password is given, I'm asked again and again for it and always no wireless connection.
I'd like to add these details which may flesh out this issue:
Quote:
pierre@pierre-Aspire-ES1-533:~$ iwconfig
wlp2s0 IEEE 802.11 ESSIDff/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=22 dBm

So it worked with ubuntu, but not with lubuntu. Possibly need to install non-free firmware?
No no.It have been running under lubuntu 18.04.4 LTS but since I used TPLINK TL--WA801ND as a repeater to extend my wireless range, wifi stoped working under lubuntu and it remains working under windows 10.
Hi, well my problem was solved when I changed live box (modem) and living space. My wireless connection is good now on my laptop running under lubuntu and using tplink.
