Hello and welcome to LQ.
This has been sitting here for a while. Guess I'll guess.

Can't access images from my computer.

What exactly are you trying to do?

How did you back them up exactly?

I assume you are not trying to convert a gen 2 to a gen 1 in this issue.

Well no.

Abit of history,

I backed up Linux OS ( Ubuntu Server Edition ) using shadowprotect which now gives me two backup files root and boot

now I checked with shadowprotect support team and they are unable to assist me because my root partition is at least 3TB.
Yes , their boot repair function supports less than 2TB only. So I have to think of another way.

How this forum might be able to help.

I have now taken the shadowprotect backup's (.spf) and converted it into VM virtual disk meaning the files are now .vhdx and vhd.
Now I need to do a boot repair but its not working.

Any ideas ??

Not sure I am fully with you on what you have.

If I had a non-bootable vm I'd either try to fix the boot issue or just mount the virtual hard drive to recover any unique data.

Since I have never heard of that software you used, I can't guess.
