Hello

How can I configure Ubuntu Server 20 LTS to login automatically at startup and also to reverse it if needed

And what would be the purpose of such a setup on a server?

An annoying bug that displays garbage instead of a clean login screen ... and it's not an actual server

Sounds like your monitor settings are not automatically being detected. Remember that linux is case sensitive.
Code:
sudo systemctl edit getty@tty1

Then enter this text and save the file afterwards:

Code: Select all
    [Service]
    ExecStart=
    ExecStart=/sbin/agetty --autologin Your_username --noclear %I $TERM
To undo just remove the lines by running the systemctl edit getty@tty1 command again.

You should be solving the garbled problem versus finding a workaround.

Thank you, it worked ... now it displays those post login information and immediately after the prompt it continues to display a couple of messages about Cloud-init timing and at last the cursor (as it did before automatic login)

Maybe I should open a thread about disabling Cloud-init messages
