Etsetra for me, one of the few directories in / that I don't internally pronounce as written.

Over the years I've seen a fair few oldish (generally pre-1950, therefore not Unix-related) documents that spell "etc" as "&c", which makes sense as well as saving space so I think it's a shame it died out. As a result I now sometimes read "etc" as "and see", but never in a Linux context - the former pronunciation was fixed in my mind long ago.

Fwiw, "usr" has always been "User" to me, even when it was USR.*

*Yes, I've used BASIC. An' it'sh never dun me no 'arm, guv.
