How can I change from the default gnome to KDE, please!?
Hi all,
After working with Fedora 6 for the last eight years, I had to move on
a few days ago because my power supply died and my disk became unbootable. I bought a new box.
I decided to install Scientific Linux. No panic, the only scientific about it is only the name, otherwise the stuff is more trivial than windows 3 which was state of the art 20 years ago.
The problem I have with it is that I cannot find a way to tell it to change from the default gnome to KDE. Gnome is not to my taste and I find it counterintuitive and a few more bad things.
I also strongly dislike the bash shell but this is easy to correct by
editing the passwd file to change it to csh which I have been using since the '80s when I moved to Unix. But how change to KDE?
I told the installer not to install gnome, to install only KDE. The
installer, that is Red Hat, ignored me, installed, it seems, only gnome and did not install KDE. Do I have to give up Linux after 16 years because of Red Hat insisting that I must use gnome??
Thank you!!
