Clustering at O/S RHEL 6.5

Hi Guys,

Condition;
1. There are 4 servers using RHEL 6.5
2. I want to clustering those servers and make just one-new hostname,
Ex; host1, host2, host3, host4 will become just one-new hostname. It's hostname will be become, 'host1234'
3. I want to make 2 host as active server (host1 and host2) and other host as passive server (host 3 and host 4)

I want to clustering O/S RHEL 6.5, and there are several question about it?
1. What the best product to make a clustering with those conditions with no-license any more?
2. Is it possible if I'm using luci and ricci?
3. Can I make just one hostname, base on those 4 servers if I'm using luci and ricci. The hostname will be naming on 'host1234'?

Anyone can help me regarding that scenario?

first i would upgrade to the current RHEL6 -RHEL 6.7

you are two versions out of date

then redhat makes some very good software for clusters

contact redhat support then sales

Quote:

NONE!!
You are using RedHat Enterprise Linux 6
you HAD to have bought the required support contract for it

if not
then do not use RHEL !!!!

instead install CentOS 6.6 or ScientificLinux 6.6 ( soon to be 6.7 )

Hi John,

Thanks for your attention.

There are more question regarding your answer;

1. You mean if I want to using Luci and Ricci for clustering my own RHEL 6.5, it's needed a licensed to activated clustering function?

2. Is it true if there is no products free for my own RHEL 6.5 to run clustering for those four servers?

Please advise.

Thanks.

if you are using Redhat's Operating system

Then you need to BUY the required support contracts to be able to install software

redhat is NOT free

https://www.redhat.com/wapps/store/c...yk14A.3839b12b

for the redhat documentation
https://access.redhat.com/documentat...erprise_Linux/
click on "6" then " clustering"

Hi John,

Actually, my team was installed the luci and ricci by successful. So, by now, our clustering was running well.
I just want to informed you about licensing in RHEL. If we bought the licensed from RHEL and then we surely will get the support team from them, but if we didn't buy the licensed from RHEL, we actually can't put any support or helps to RHEL's team when we've got some problem within our installation or when in a production scheme, but we still can installing their products as well. So we still can installing application of luci and ricci without out of money..

Anyway, thank for your attention pak.

Terimakasih.
