clear 'open recent' on the red hat menu ?

does anyone know how to clear it? I have a lot of dead links in there.

I haven't tried this but don't see any problem with doing it. But it is always good practice to make a backup copy of a file you change. So, first make a backup copy of
.recently-used

Then delete the file and log out and back in.
