Can't install McAfee For Linux on RHEL6

Extreme newbie here! I am currently trying to install McAfee VSE for Linux 1.9.1 on my RHEL6 box but get an error stating "WARNING: McAfeeVSEForLinux web monitor cannot be installed as 32bit PAM libraries are not present on your system"
I have been doing some research on the web about this and most of the articles or threads say that if you downgrade the glibc-common rpm to a version supported by i686 that it should work. Then all I need to do is install the pam.i686. Sounds simple enough, but because I am so new to all of this, I have no clue how to do this.
Information about my system: currently all libraries end in .x86_64 and the glibc-common is 2.12-1.107.el6.x86_64. Also, I do not have internet access with this box.

Any help would be grateful. Thanks.

this is rhel ? and not cent ?

for redhat you HAVE to buy the required support contract and register your install
then you can install software
the standard one year single DESKTOP contract is $299 / year (USD)
-- server license is $799 per year

also unless you are using this redhat server as a mail server or a AD server
mcafee will really ONLY look for Microsoft Windows viruses in attachments and in incoming and out going mail and files

redhat can not run the MICROSOFT viruses and as such can not be infected BY the Microsoft Windows viruses

linux is already immune to the MS Windows viruses

but

if you get a lot of files from windows users you CAN ( like typhoid Marry) spread them to OTHER windows users

this is where the FREE ClamAV comes in
and will be in the RHN repo that you have access to with your paid for support contract

Code:
su -
yum install clamav

John,

I guess I need to add a little light to this subject. This box (RHEL 6.4) is used by the military and I am getting the McAfee from the military since they are requiring that I have it installed because of information assurance requirements. With that said, I do not have the option to put whatever AV software I wish on it.

contact your Sargent for the needed access

and 6.4 is rather out of date
the current in the 6 series is RHEL 6.7

you are 5 minor versions out of date

Mr. John,

I appreciate your assistance. I understand that 6.4 is rather out of date, but we do not have the luxury of just upgrading at will. Also, I do not have a Sergeant to go to for needed help, that's why I came to Linux Questions. Thanks again!

then contact redhat tech support
you HAVE to buy the REQUIRED support contract
-- there are NO "if's and's or but's" on this
you HAVE TO buy the license

and locking to a old version will cost extra

so you REALLY need redhat's tech support's help

call them and open a ticket

Not to bash Mcafee, but my personal experience using "McAfeeVSEForLinux" on RHEL,Centos, and Scientific Linux has been horrible. If it's in your power I strongly suggest "clamav"

red hat is targeted towards corporate enterprise users. i'm surprised your tech support staff doesnt have a support contract with redhat or a 3rd party rhce consultant (seems reckless) ?

When did the OP mention not having Red Hat Support Contract? I'm sure the system not having internet access is a requirement by the organization being that it's military. Vendor supported software is a requirement.. on or offline

ckmbrooks,

Leaving out the specific technical details

You have one of two options
1) Using an internet connected system, log into Red Hat Support/RHN and manually download the needed RPMS, although this can easily turn into a dependency nightmare
2) Using a supported Red Hat internet connected system, use the well documented tool called "reposync" to mirror your "subscribed" software channel.
* Create a local YUM software repository
* Put the repository on an external storage (USB Hard drive etc....)
* Configure YUM on system to point to external storage
* Use YUM to install the needed software
