I have used both Perl and Python and each has its strengths and weaknesses. However, neither language would be as widely used as they are if they did not provide some major benefit to their users.

You have now been warned several times about this kind of thing. The simple fact is that a post like this adds no value, and only serves to annoy people.
Friends I choose Perl because it's different from C/C++.
I need really something different.
And... I can use Perl for system administration, (I know I can use shell scripts).
Now I'm reading "Learning Perl 5th Edition" by OReilly. I think it's really good for beginners.
Python it's really good. Make fast development cycle and it's really useful for developing new softwares.
