as: using Intel syntax (as opposed to AT&T syntax).

Hi: I want to use as, the GNU assembler, to write a little program. How do I tell the assembler I am not using AT&T syntax but Intel's syntax?

9.15.3.1 AT&T Syntax versus Intel Syntax:

Quote:
.intel_syntax selects Intel mode, and .att_syntax switches back to the usual AT&T mode for compatibility with the output of gcc. Either of these directives may have an optional argument, prefix, or noprefix specifying whether registers require a `%' prefix.

Thanks. I have those diredctives, I now remember, written down somewhere. I was now looking into the man page for as, and I found about mnemonics and syntax being treated as different things. And these options applying only within a given platform. Very intrincate.

I much rather prefer writting a directive into the source, like the ones you gave.
