Who thanked me?
Hi:
Among the data displayed on the left of my posts, headed by my nickname, I find this: 'Thanked: 1'. Is there a possibility to know who this guy was? I remember only once to have helped another LQ user, and my post was quickly followed by that of another LQ user who made me look a bit inept. I'm really curious. Regards. |

Thanks a lot, repo.

You can only know which post was thanked, not who thanked.
This has been discussed previously here, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-thing-772292/ and here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...button-781782/ |
stf92, two things to say about that :
If some LQ member thinks, the OP forgot to say 'Thanks', ( .. or the answer could be of great importance for others ) he / she may do the "Thank you". We don't need to know who .. And if the 'Thanks' is used in an old thread, it's almost impossible to trace anyway, if you have a lot of Thanked posts. .. |
Yes. But there is something very odd about this only thanked post I got: I originated the thread. Thanks for your reply.

Yes : I can see that ( it's post # 6 ). One more possibility : Somebody would see how that button worked. ( Or clicked it by mistake ? ) And once clicked, you got thanked: There is no withdrawal function. EDIT : see post # 9. .. |
Thank you, knudfl. Best wishes.

Once you click on the Thanks button its colour changes from yellow to red and one is added to the Thanked counter. Pressing the red Thanks button will withdraw the Thank You and decrease the Thanked counter. You cannot withdraw a "This Post Is Helpful" action. Clicking on Yes/No makes it final. |
