This feature has been turned off for a bit as Jeremy looks at some ways to better integrate it into the site. My understanding is that all of the stats from the old system will be retained, they will just be presented differently when the new system comes online.

What happens if you click on it?
I see a thanks button, but it's a nice shiny new one instead of the blue thumb. Looks nice! But I'm not sure if it's fully or partly or non functioning at this moment. As sort of mentioned, the THANKS system is being evaluated for improvements, enhancements, removal, or some combination of these things.

We have brought the feature back with a new button, and will continue to evaluate whether or not to keep it permanently based on feedback. Please let us know what you think in this thread.

I am happy that the functionality is back. Besides, the button style fits nicely in the forum layout.
EDIT: and it is very smart to use the place of the edit button, since
the Thanks button is never placed in one's own thread and the Edit button is never needed in someone's else thread.
EDIT: but then again the Quote button should stay in place and not shift dependent on the presence of the Edit/Thanks button.
