suggestion for new sub forum -'NEW' newbies

I've had an enormous ammount of help via this forum since joining last week, but many of the well-meaning responses seem to assume a certain level of knowledge that a new Windoze/Mac convert just doesn't have.

I can't understand most of the threads on the Newbie forum. If the posts there come from 'newbies' - what does that make ME?

This forum is an amazing resource for linux assistance, but I fear that a lot of potential convertees are frightened off very soon by the percieved confirmation that Linux is 'just too hard for me'. Personally, I'm still JUST hanging on by my fingernails.

So what about a sub-forum for clueless newbies like moi?

You should have posted this in Website Questions and Suggestions.

And remember, this is a free to use forum, and anyone can post
whatever they want -- that doesn't mean it's correct. You should
find some documentation to read to learn how to use your particular
distro, then search Google <Linux> for answers, and then post when
you've exhausted all other resources.

Perhaps this is OT, but note that the titles that appear below a member's name are a function of that person's post count.

0 - 29 posts = Newbie
30 - 999 = Member
1000+ = Senior Member

As a side comment, by definition, *everybody* starts off as a Linux newbie, and while it's true that in the beginning Linux can seem like some giant mysterious puzzle, as long as you're willing to take some time to do some reading and to learn how to use Linux commands and applications, in no time at all you'll quickly shed your newbie status.
