Another comment/idea about the recent spam posts with a link in the Subject: Is it possible (and practical) to prevent URLs from being entered in the Subject of a thread?
That would prevent the condition MensaWater posted about here today, and shouldn't be too inconvenient for members...(I don't think I've ever seen a legit thread with a URL/link in the Subject)
Honestly, when the spam is so obvious that the link is in the subject, I wouldn't even bother reporting. I'd just wait for a mod to see it and remove it.

The mods have enough to do as it is without keeping an eye out for spammers 24/7. I'm sure that the community reporting such spam is a great help to them.

Why aren't posts from new users with a URL in the subject automatically going into moderation, if not being rejected outright? I mean, that's such an obvious red flag...
