Thumbs up New member

Hello, all. Just wanted to introduce myself as an old and disgruntled Windows user/ex-techie who wants to move to an OS that actually works, isn't bogged down in all the MS overhead/bloat, and isn't so vulnerable to nasty bugs and malware, etc.

I'm thinking that some version of Linux is the answer...but of course at the age of 66 (and after a stroke 7 years ago), I'm not exactly looking forward to learning a new OS. So at some point I'll dive in, and I'm thinking this is one of the best places to start when I'm ready.

Thank you for being "here"!

I'm not assuming any of the points are relevant to you, but it's a nice intro to the difference between linux and windows.

Welcome aboard. Age is no barrier, I'm just months short of my 65th.

My distro of choice may well suit you, take a look, it is a live/installable, so you can try it without actually installing it.
