Talking Howdy Y'all...

This old Texas geek now lives near Nashville TN back in the sticks. Life is a lot slower than it was for the previous 25+ years I lived in Houston. I went to TAMU back when there were 4 girls on campus, and none single.

Back in my former (employed) life, I was a programmer, mainframe systems programmer (VM), UNIX desktop support geek, and eventually backups became my game. IBM's TSM is still my preference, but I have come to enjoy the open source backup softwares. Being tired of keeping it running, I now use CrashPlan to backup my machines to a rather largeish onsite disk.

I attend the MTRAS robotics group, NLUG (Nashville UNIX Users Group) fairly regularly.

Current intrests are robots, CNC, and keeping my fingers in systems administration. I do enough windows to keep viruses off of family and friends computers.

Someone want to hare (full time, part time, or contract) an old geek in the Nashville area, let me know! ... I do a lot of probono work for old(er than I am) folks too.
