Howdy!
I suppose my 'name' here is Psylant.
This is my first post in these forums and I hope I'm getting it right/in the correct location.
I'll just start by saying I'm COMPLETELY NEW to Linux. I didn't really choose to have Linux, it just happens to be the OS that I have on this computer.
Which is Kali GNU/Linux Rolling 64-bit
To make a long story short. I was homeless in Colorado for about 4 years and didn't touch a computer throughout that entire time. I decided to go back to Kansas and get back together with my two sons, one of which gave me this computer, which happens to be running Linux.
Linux, as you can imagine is a totally new OS and environment for me to get used to. At first, I didn't really like having Linux as an OS. But I've since become intrigued by it, and it's also an awesome opportunity to 'hang out' with my son with a common interest. Anyhow, I'll just close for now. I'm really looking forward to hearing from anyone who cares to reply.. Have an awesome day!
You will enjoy Linux as a user, and as time goes by, and if you take notice, you will find as a user, it's not the OS that is limited as much as the user is limited. Be open and intuitive, you'll do just fine.
Thank you for taking the time to welcome me in!
Yah, it feels great to be back with my boys! ... I'm somewhat getting used to the idea of using Linux, rather excited about the whole idea really. I had to look up what "moniker" meant lol and thank you! I used to use it back when I was gaming a lot.. I guess its better than trying to use my other one I used quite often " DeathLeHeM " haha!
Anyhow, I'm gonna run off and see what I can get into and learn about.. I've got a ton of questions, however its my understanding that questions are for another part of this forum..

I love my 2 boys dearly. But. I don't follow their directions blindly. After you learn a few things.
Consider installing a different operating system.
You are learning to swim in the deepest end of the pool < permission needed, needed, needed to run stuff. Most network stuff turned off by default >. How ever. If this is just a loaner laptop. Disregard my post. Since your boy may want it back stock.
