make file don't work ??? .config ???

Hi, I try to install a driver for my wifi card and when I run the make file it says:

Makefile:8: /lib/modules/2.6.11.8/build/.config: no such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target '/lib/modules/2.6.11.8/build/.config'. Stop

(I'm new on linux and I use a live cd (whax))

Thanks

install kernel-devel / kernel-source for the matching kernel you are currently running.
