A quick DDG search turned up several loggers. Certainly hoping this is not for nefarious purposes.

You pointed to the Windows version. You can get this keylogger using pip:
Code:
pip3 install --user keylogger
Run it:
Code:
$ ~/.local/bin/keylogger -h
usage: keylogger [-h] [--log-file LOG_FILE] [--clean-file]
                 [--cancel-key CANCEL_KEY]

A simple keylogger for Linux.

optional arguments:
  -h, --help show this help message and exit
  --log-file LOG_FILE Save the output in this file.
  --clean-file Clear the log file on startup.Default is No
  --cancel-key CANCEL_KEY
                        A single key that use as the cancel key, Default is `
                        (backtick)

hmrmph.
doesn't really seem to be an adequate explanation for anything - better not say anything at all, instead of using such a non-descript explanation.

Exactly - keyloggers have nothing to do with cybersecurity other than they are considered "malware".
