Linux Mint can't save network files, Ubuntu can
I have used ubuntu, dsl linux, puppy linux, xubuntu, lubuntu, kubuntu, and a few others. My samba share on my nice little fileserver is setup this way:
[2TB-new]
comment = 2TB-new
path = /media/2TB-new/
writeable = yes
create mask = 777
directory mask = 777
guest ok = yes
force user = xmrkite
That has been working nicely for allowing everyone and anyone on the network access to save, delete modify, etc files. Full permissions (or so I believe).
Linux mint 16 comes along and I thought I'd test it out....can't edit any of my spreadsheets, text files, or anything else. I can create and edit files in Mint on the share, just not files that existed before Mint.
I use the same user and pass on my mint computer as my kubuntu laptop. Why can kubuntu do it (and my windows vm's too) but not mint? The server is mythbuntu 12.10 (i think).
