I'm trying to install a program from source, but I get an error that there is no "latex" command on my system. I tried searching, but came up empty handed... any suggestions?
If the output is none, install it. I know
that MDK comes with latex rpm's because
one of my work-mates uses it as his
publishing system of choice :) and he
swears by MDK, too ...
You ought to be able to find latex on your installation CDs, or download it from rpmfind.net.
It's typesetting software - the thing you're compiling probably wants it in order to create some PDF documentation or some such. It's really good, by the way (especially if you get something like LyX to make it easier to use) - perfect if you are writing papers or anything.
