That link goes to some very old software for very old Windows...but at least "The author thinks that Tera Term (Pro) is Year-2000 compliant"!

Hmm, this begs the question: why do you want to install it? There are simply oodles of other terminal emulators all compiled and nicely packaged for you system already.

ssh and telnet.

(And on Windows, you really don't want to be using the 1999 version of TeraTerm anymore... use PuTTY, instead.)

You might get TeraTERM to run under WINE, but connectivity to serial ports might be an issue.

Try minicom for serial communication under Linux.

I could be missing something, but that README(& the contents of the .gz) contain instructions and a couple of files to aid in communicating with a linux box with teraterm.
Why are you so hung up on this one program? It won't run on linux(ok, maybe it would under wine), and again, it's very old.
What are you trying to do, exactly?
