grub doesn't start

Hi, I have a problem with grub on fedora 2 with SATA disk Raid 1 controller 3ware 8506.
During startup, after bios check I don't see the grub menu but only a cursor
flashes. If I use boot cd the system starts.
In rescue mode I re-install grub with grub-install command, then I reboot but I have the
same problem.
What can I do?

Thanks in advance

Tiziana

mostly this happens when one of ur raid harddisks fails. or it can also be the problem with ur raid device ie. /dev/md0
