first time "using" Beryl

I figured I would install beryl and see what the rave was about, but I got the following message:

Quote:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

xvinfo: Unable to open display :0.0
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

xdpyinfo: unable to open display ":0.0".

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Error: unable to open display (null)
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

beryl: Couldn't open display :0.0
What is wrong, and how can it be fixed, and is it worth it?

If beryl is worthy? That depends how much you enjoy eye-candy :P

This is the tutorial I followed to get the eye candy, and here is my xord.conf files I use. I installed beryl on Mandriva also, not sure where I seen those errors you got, but pretty sure it had to do with options in xorg.conf, I did see those errors, but did not do what was suggested in the prior post.
