Couldn't run Acrobat 5 INSTALL

I downloaded Acrobat 5.07 for unix...and tried a lot to install it but failed I guess.

ReadMe says just hit INSTALL, in gnome didn't work. In Terminal says put the DESTINATION directory. I did but it just create an empy directory.

So can you help me please? in my first installation over Linux?

was it an rpm file or tar?

It's a tar. I extracted it to a folder in GUI.

Actually, I followed one of the users instructions to install and it works.

I still need to understand the sequece of the commands he wrote coz I did the same but didn't work.

I still have the "UTF-8" problem which I will work on it now I've seen a solution for that in the forum.
