There are not many of those, and most of the remaining ones are very old drivers that are unlikely to be used in newer Windows version.

I was referring to programs that would install and configure based on location on disk.

Many commercial/industrial programs still do that. Exceed used to do that and may still.

I'll agree that the windows 10 store programs would most likely not lock to a location.

Pretty much everything that is recompiled and linked will IE INSTALLED. About the only ones that won't are ones that are designed to be portable and they usually have any library routines included in theeir load module.
