Ok. I've posted to Slackware forum but nobody replied. My problem is that I've tried to compile fontconfig. It didn't compile due to bug with doc-utils but strangely my original fonts.conf was overwritten. I was using dropline-gnome, so it of course crashed (fontconfig errror: default fonts.conf file cannot be loaded). I can't use normally any programs which uses fontconfig (including graphical browsers). I've tried to modify fonts.conf., reinstall fontconfig. Finally decided to remove all dropline-gnome and then it install from scratch. However, I can't do that because through installing I get same error about that fonts.conf file. Should I reinstall all Slackware or what? Thanks for help.
when you tried to reinstall fontconfig what errors did you get? did you delete fonts.conf(i usually mv files to <same-name>.backup or somthing similar, same name but add the .backup or .old to the filename) before you tried reinstalling?
i did
#rm -r fonts
I get no errors through installation of fontconfig (only got when tried to compile), but programs which should use fontconfig show errors due to fonts.conf file. I posted all info on this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=409524
This doesn't work for me as well as some guys from lfs. I have installed fontconfig as slackware package but other programs do not undertand fonts.conf file.

OK, following your previous post I've upload here fonts.conf and fonts.dtd from a default Slackware installation. Click the free button to d/l.
Hope that helps.
