Samba- print jobs won't clear from WinXP queues

Hello all,
Printing has worked O.K. for several months but within the last few days print jobs started adding up on the XP users queues but don't appear on the webmin / printers page of the server or when using commands like "lpc status". The samba server is now taking up to 15 mins on some print jobs. The successfully printed jobs remain in the windows queue. I have tried clearing all files in /var/spool/cups and there are no files in /var/spool/cups/tmp. I have tried manually clearing them from XP clients. Tried to
Code:
installpkg samba-3.0.25a-i486-1_slack10.1.tgz
and get error msg "file does not end with .tgz".

Here is my smb.conf:
Code:
[global]
        dns proxy = no
        log file = /var/log/samba.%m
        load printers = yes
        printer = HP-Laser-5p
        printing = cups
        printcap = cups
        server string = Samba Print Server
        socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_RCVBUF=8192
        workgroup = Sales
        os level = 20
        security = share
        max log size = 100
        allow hosts = 192.168.

[printers]
   comment = All Printers
   path = /var/spool/samba
   browseable = yes
   public = yes
# Set public = yes to allow user 'guest account' to print
   guest ok = yes
   writable = yes
   printable = yes
   use client driver = yes
#   print command = lpr-cups -P %p -o raw %s -r
# This one is useful for people to share files
;[tmp]

# A publicly accessible directory, but read only, except for people in
# the "staff" group
[Public]
        comment = Public Storage Directory
        writeable = yes
        printable = no
        delete readonly = yes
        public = yes
        path = /usr/local/public

[homes]
        browseable = no
        delete readonly = yes
        writeable = yes
;       path = /home
        comment = Home Directory
        valid users = %S
        user = %S
        create mode = 777
        directory mode = 777
Any suggestions?

Using:
Lorma Linux (slackware 10.1)
Samba 3.010
CUPS

Thanks!

Update 1

Finally got:
Code:
installpkg samba-3.0.25a-i486-1_slack10.1.tgz
to work. Just tried it again this morning and poof, it worked. So now the Samba Vers. is 3.0.25a. Seems to be printing reasonably fast but something is still holding on to successfully printed jobs that appear in the XP users queues. HP laser queue shows 145+ jobs, HP Color shows 15 or so and I expect as the day goes on printing will start to slow down again. Reboot gives me another hour or so of smooth printing.

So no resolution yet.

Regards.
