Possible to remove both the top (Applications, Places) panel and the bottom panel in RHEL7?
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but thought I'd try.
I'm working with RedHat 7.3 x64 server. I need to have both the top and bottom panels removed from the desktop. I'm not seeing an option to remove them in either gconf or dconf editor.
Anyone know is this is even possible and if it is, how it's done?
An rpm -qa shows that Im running gnome-desktop3-3.14.2-2.el7
Not a kiosk, but a locked-down machine. This thing will have software running on it and that's all the users of this software should be able to see. I've also had to configure a solid black background with no icons and no ability to right click.
If I run the command you listed, I get the following error: No such schema 'org.gnome.gnome-panel.layout.
If I run dconf-editor I don't see the schema listed above under gnome.

...which brings us back to you not being able to say anything about this one application you want to run, and being in a totally supported RHEL7 paid-for situation, which means you can work with RHEL support do to this easily. The Gnome 3 admin guide can probably help you, but again you need to CALL RED HAT SUPPORT. If you can't talk about what you're doing, running, and have limited abilities on the system to load software, what do you think we can tell you if you can't provide us details, or load software?
Please continue to work through this problem using your former thread on the topic. There are answers in both threads and it is a good time to follow up on whether or not you've tried any of the suggestions.
