OSSEC-WUI No Long Maintained

Hi,

I'm looking for some free and open source security software. We use OSSEC-HIDS, but we don't have a centralized location to view all the threats. We mostly analyze the log files from email, a tedious, daily task. I looked into OSSIM, but I don't really want to install an entire OS just to use it. Then, I found OSSEC-WUI, but it looks like it's no longer maintained.

Does anyone know of any alternatives, or do people still use OSSEC-WUI?

Most folks that I'm aware of use ELK stack or something along those lines. What does OSSEC-WUI provide for you that ELK stack doesn't? Maybe you could narrow it down from there.

Thank you redd9. I'm looking into ELK. This seems like something we need too, but what are people actually using for host intrusion detection?

I believe we use Snort. It doesn't come with a web GUI, but you can get third party GUIs. As far as I know, Snort would be considered the standard.

Contribute to ossec/ossec-wui development by creating an account on GitHub. If you are interested in maintaining the project, please contact the OSSEC team open an have a large ossec install, you may want to re-configure PHP to support longer lasting scripts and higher memory utilization. No packages published.
