Openssl and backup
Dear people,
Hope this is the right forum for this question.
My old Lenovo laptop died and bought a new Dell inspiron and installed opensuse 15 on it.
Had passwords saved in openssl encryted files.
After setting the backup back on the new laptop i was unable to open the encrypted files, tried it a hundred times and wonder what the reason could be.
Also reset the userid to the old value that `ls -n` reads.
Fortunately i had cygwin installed on my wife's Lenovo laptop and there i could decrypt the files.
Is this known?
Is there a way to prevent this?
Kindly,
Peter
(apologies for my bad English)
