so Canonical/Ubuntu doesn't follow the Linux community rules...

What you fail to appreciate - and what TobiSGD pointed out - is that the distro you appear to use also pushes the same nonfree crap yet tries to claim it's not in the "official repos".
Debian is also highly involved with 'buntu - in terms of collaboration and in terms of co-developers...
If you dislike 'buntu so zealously - then don't run Debian either...
For what it's worth - I sympathise with any misgivings you may have about canonical ltd, but would not post what you posted as it's low on fact and high on FUD - it just doesn't do your "cause" any good.
Canonical Ltd are simply a leech and they should just come out and admit it, instead of sneaking around. Anything developed by canonical turns out to be either proprietary or next to impossible to build on other distributions... canonical don't want to contribute to the GNU/Linux / FOSS ecosystems, they want to set up something "Linux based" (like android) for the average user.
That is what I'm saying , with different words, but same thing.
Yes their are talking advantage(leech as you said) over the sorce code from the community and then make devices that uses Android or the likes of it!

And this is unacceptable? It would seem you're offended by Canonical using Linux programmers' work strictly for its own benefit, not giving anything back. I personally am not. I just accept that there can be Linux users that are not a part of the Linux community. As far as I know, the legal agreements governing Linux use don't compel users to be part of the community. I'm not a Linux developer and don't know any modern programming languages, so I can only use Linux without contributing any code. Therefore, I must be closer to Canonical's viewpoint than a Linux developer's. Were it not for the fact that I can't contribute code anyway and Canonical can, couldn't you also call me a leech?
