Zip Files

I've just bought a new tv and i wish to update the firmware which i can do via a USB stick.
I've downloaded the firmware which turns out to be a zip file. I clicked on it and went to a screen where i can extract the files.
I highlighted the file and clicked on 'extract.'
Apparently the files were extracted so i clicked on 'show me the files.'
The screen went to my 'downloads' folder and show a single file, still identified as a zip file.
I put it on the USB stick, put it in the tv, but the message it get is there are no downloadable files on the stick.
Have i done something wrong?
Should there be more than one file in the downloads folder, and were the files actually extracted?

Thanks.

I am assuming that your originally downloaded firmware file is indeed doubly zipped (zip over zip)..

Did you try to extract from the second zip file ? (The one into your "Download" directory)

Also, please run the following command from a terminal, it should list contents of the zipped file without actually extracting it.

Code:
unzip -l /PATH/TO/ZippedFile

I'm not really sure you need to unzip it at all. Please read the documentation of your TV about how the firmware update should work.
Usually you need to download a file and put it into a specific folder on your pendrive (otherwise the TV will not find it). You will get a menu (on your TV) on how to proceed automatically.
