Hi,

I've just installed Linux Mint 19.1 Xfce 64 bit.This is a fresh install, was using 17.1 and the workspace manager behaviour is a bit different.

I can see my four workspaces (I've labelled them W1, W2, W3 and W4) -see attachments.

I'm running Firefox in W1 and in previous versions you'd see a tiny rectangle in the workspace representing the window you have open in that workspace.

The version in 19.1 doesn't show this.

I cannot find anything in the Workspace Manager Settings...

Where else could this be configured or has it's behaviour been changed?

There should be a desktop setting you can use:-

Try Menu -> preferences -> applets and choose the "Workspace switcher" (use the + option)
You can configure it, to some extent.

I don't use it - a single workspace is sufficient for me.

Almost correct, I finally found it from the Workspace Switcher properties.

Right Click any workspace on the toolbar -> Properties
then tick the Show Miniature View tick box
I also un-selected the Behaviour - Switch w2orkspaces using mouse wheel

I'm actually using LMDE (a Debian based version of Mint) & I assumed config options would be basically similar.
Seems not.

shows Cinnamon 4.0.9
