Which files are on the given LBAs? (finding damaged files via bad sector list)

If I have a list of bad LBA's, how do I find out the files on it?
  • FAT16, FAT32, exFAT.
  • NTFS.
  • EXT2, EXT3. EXT4.

Perhaps you could update and provide a much greater amount of information.

You should already know the file system type you have on your disk.

For ext2/3/4, you calculate which file system block contains the bad LBA and then use the testb command in debugfs to find out which (if any) inode is claiming that block. Details are in the Bad Block HOWTO.

I can't help you with the other filesystems.
