First: don't write "urgent" at the title, the people here don't get paid to help so there is no "this is more important post than the others, answer this first" -queue here. Some people might even get a little annoyed by that and decide not to answer even if they knew something you wanted to know.
Second: provide more information. For example exact commands that you ran (enclosed in [code] tags to make them stand out and be easily readable) and output -- like you posted above, good -- and put the output between [code] tags too, so it's readable too. If all commands, output, your text and comments are normal text laid one line after the other, it's slow to read.
Third: did the package come with a "configure" script, a README and/or INSTALL file? Did you read README and/or INSTALL, did you run the configure script if it was there (usually projects which come with a Makefile come with a configure script)?
- If there is a README file, read it because it really can contain useful things
- If there is an INSTALL file, read it because it tells how this specific piece of software is supposed to be installed (there is no 100% standard way of compiling software on Linux, it's all up to the developer to obey some general ways or not, but usually it is said in some file how the developer wants the code to be compiled)
- If there is a configure script, it usually is supposed to be run before anything else
- If there is a Makefile, you usually need to compile the code with make utility (without extra parameters unless you need) before using an "install" target of make
- The "install" target of make is usually the very last step of the installation procedure
So even if you did run configure and make or did read README and/or INSTALL and followed the directions there, were they those I mentioned or not, please specify it. It saves some time to know what you did and what you didn't do..
