TAILS usb stick not booting up in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

I used to boot up my live TAILS usb stick on my win 10 laptop. Today I replaced the Windows 10 OS with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. However when I try to start up TAILS, the laptop boots into Ubuntu.
I have checked the BIOS and it is set to "Legacy". Also USB Boot is enabled.
I would be grateful for any assistance

Booting a bootable USB stick has nothing to do with what operating system is installed on the internal hard drive.
Check the BIOS again, and/or test the USB stick in another computer.

When I operated TAILS in windows 10, the settings were

BOOT MODE - Legacy Support
BOOT PRIORITY - Legacy First
USB BOOT - Enabled

I changed the BOOT PRIORITY to - UEFI First, the other two settings remaining unchanged.

I am now able to boot into TAILS.
