password prompt is slow to pop up


I have 20 centos server , just found that a new installed server , it password prompt is slow to pop up ( the login prompt is normal ) , it takes about 3 seconds to pop up , may I ask what would be the possible reason of this issue ?

Reverse DNS lookup (where the server is trying to resolve a hostname from the connection IP address and this does a timeout rather than working or failing) can cause problems you describe.
