No, we're not going to be your personal, one-on-one tech support line. If you want answers, you'll actually have to participate in the forums.

You don't say what version of Ubuntu, what fields aren't populated, or give any errors. Look in the /var/log/messages file when you try to connect, and see if there's anything that indicates there's a failure.

Also, try to spell and write clearly...and some punctuation wouldn't hurt either...your question is very hard to read and follow.

Did you check your docs? That information needs to come from when you signed up for O2...nothing much for us to help you with there.

And yet you still don't say what version of Ubuntu, give anything from your logs, or say what program you're using to try to get connected. We can't help if you don't provide information.

And if you think you're getting talked down to, oh well....if you want anyone to be able to understand what you're saying, you're going to have to talk/write clearly. One giant run-on sentence, no caps, etc., doesn't help. If you're even in grade school, those are things you should already know.

i dont no what version of ubuntu iv got its the connected icon at the top of the screen. ive left clicked on it and edit connections and thats what comes up.
and i dont see the importance of correct grammar and and spelling as im typing quite fast, and im rushed to try and activate it as i have to be up for work at 430 in the morning 4 hours and counting so excuse me for being short tempered.
and as for reading the documents theres nothing about linex and its pay as you go ive contacted o2 and there as much help as a chocolate teacup.

On the panel try clicking System->About Ubuntu
This should pop up a window indicating the version.

Clicked on what? Does the thing that comes up have a Help->About menu item. If so, that should tell you what it is.

Well, it is entirely up to you, but generally when asking for help from people you are far more likely to get it if you follow the usual accepted standards of social interactions.

Sorry to rain on your parade with a bit more netiquette/sensibly defensive online behaviour, but posting your e-mail details online in clear text is not a sensible way to behave, unless you like getting spam. Harvesters (not the less-than-brilliant restaraunt) go round and add such addresses to lists sold to spammers; this is not a good thing.

And, of course, as TB0ne indicated, the volunteers do this for the community, and not for an individual, so it is important to us that answers to questions remain in their entirety in order that they are useful for others in the community.

There are rules for the forum which are made available when you join and you will find that your life is easier if you actually obey them.

I can suggest that you answer the questions people have already asked. Or if you don't know how to answer them, ask for help on how to answer them.

If you are unsure why you are not getting the help you want, please have a look at the following link:

Ok, schneidz asked you to open a terminal an type some commands. Do you know what a terminal is? If not, say so. Better yet, try to find out by googling or similar.
