Question "mv: Can't stat source"

Hi, can you please help? really new to Linux.
tried to uninstall 1 rpm package called "kernel-mppe-2.4.20-8.i586.rpm" which was just installed.
Did manage to locate the package via rpm -qa | grep...
but when I tried to remove it with rpm -e <file>
I got the mv: Can't stat source error.
what went wrong? I have to reinstall MPPE support through kernelmod and need to remove the previous package first.

Thanks again.

Liron.
