Error while deleting Trash 999 Error removing file: Operation not supported


When I try to delete a folder on my C drive in a live version of mint I get an Error message saying

Error while deleting
There was an error deleting /filename.ext/

Error removing file: Operation not supported


When I try to delete a single file I get this error message

Error while deleting
There was an error deleting /filename.ext/
Error removing file: Operation not supported

I would guess it is because ntfs-3g and/or ntfsprogs are not on the Mint CD and they are used to deal with windows filesystems.

these are system 32 to delete Windows doesn't let you usually delete these files so how would I delete them on Linux I try to give permission to delete them while I'm on Windows but it doesn't really work I can't delete them

I'm not sure why you would want to delete system files. If you can't delete them from windows I expect there would be a good reason for it. Also, windows generally doesn't deal with standard Linux permissions. I haven't used windows regularly for over ten years so can't help.
