[SOLVED] Don't know how to install Libre Office from a deb folder.

The folder you have is most likely an executable, so all you have to do is look in the file & make a link to it. The executable is most likely soffice.
If you want to install the package with a .deb exstension aand use gdebi.

Guys, thanks so much. I did read the instructions but I got thrown by this line:

This directory contains a subdirectory called "DEBS". Change directory to the "DEBS" directory.

That seemed like double-talk to me and I figured there had to be an easier way. Hence I thought of the GDebi installer.

Anyway, I decided to go back and uninstall the version I had attempted to install and get the Libreoffice from the Ubuntu Software Center (which I probably should have done in the first place).

Thanks for all the help and sorry for all my thick-headedness.

i.e. from the repositories.
If Ubuntu issue a later version you will be asked if you want to upgrade.

Alternatively,

to change to a sub-directory called DEBS you would enter

cd is the command for "change directory".
